Flat Plans

Above is the design that i made for my front cover, for this i took into consideration all the research that i used into magazine front covers such as image framing, fonts, colour scheme's, mast heads and sell lines.  For this i found that the main colour schemes that were used for R 'n' B and Hip Hop were a consistent red, white and black i used this as i have used the red for my mast head.  I have used purple and black for my sell lines which i may consider changing to all black whereas i think that the purple fit in with the scheme as purple is a similar colour.  From my research i used the puff at the bottom which will be slanted and also the lines at the top of the page i have also slanted to show that this magazine is a very specific genre of music and is not a normal music and has an acquired taste which is what i was aiming to do.  The other sell lines i have found were on both sides of the image which i have acted on and used in my flat plan design.  For my background of my image i am not yet sure what i will use so for this i have left blank which i will use either a graffiti wall which i am looking into, but also i am considering using the studio as i have found that some magazines use a studio for the contents page main image which is a good idea as then it will give me a clean image and i won't have to worry too much about the chance of the public being in the shot, whereas for my contents page and DPS i am going to have to vary this as it will look to plain if i keep all the images in the studio.  For the Mast head i am looking into Old School Fonts with the help of DaFont.com i am doing this research, i am also looking at old school fonts and curly fonts i have 2 fonts already which i am considering using which will be found in my Font Research Post.  For the other part of my sell line i am looking for a fancy writing to contrast to the 'NEW' part of the sell line which is the look that will appeal to my audience i think as from my research i have found that they like different, individual and unique things which what i am trying to create.  

This above is my flat plan for my contents page which will have 3 photo's on it, a two shot of a double act which i would like to shot outdoors which i will carry out a risk assessment on when i find out where i am going to shoot this shot.  I am also looking into fonts for my Contents title which i am looking for a different kind of font so i will consider cartoon fonts for a different look which i am going to consider but i am not sure that this fits in with the genre although it would look good in the opinion of myself so if this does not work i will research into fonts that are; Eroded, Ghetto Marquee and Old School.  I will then need to search for the font that i want to use for my text in this contents page which will be the same throughout the DPS, Contents Page and Front Cover.  The colour i chose for the contents was Purple which i will consider changing to Black as this would then fit in with the magazine, although if i chose purple that would match the original idea for the Front cover also which would be individual to the magazine which could be considered as a trade mark kind of thing as no other magazine would be using this.
